Our proposals for a new residential development in south Manchester have been submitted for planning approval.
The site, situated on Palatine Road within the Didsbury West ward opposite Withington Golf Club, will involve the demolition of three existing buildings to make way for fifty four, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and sixteen, five-bedroom homes.
The apartment building addresses Palatine Road while the townhouses and semi-detached homes are located to the rear of the site around a raised landscaped podium. The proposals have been carefully designed to mitigate any flooding risk with all habitable dwellings set at 1.5m above exiting ground level.
The material palette is informed by the local context utilising light / buff brickwork combined with blue brick plinths, stone string courses and cills. Anodised aluminium and zinc add to the robust contemporary aesthetic.
The landscape strategy maximises the retention of existing mature trees whilst creating a vibrant series of new spaces that facilitate connections and access across the site.
The proposals can be viewed on the MCC planning portal with the reference 141813/FO/2024.
